Battered Women’s Shelter (location undisclosed):  24 hour counseling hotline. 30-day shelter for female victims of domestic violence and their children. Support groups and counseling for women and children. Crisis Counseling Assistance with filing for a domestic violence protective order assistance with filing for criminal charges and court accompaniment.

Turning Point of Union County:  a domestic violence program for Union County residents providing safe shelter and other services to victims of domestic violence and their children.

United Family Services:  24 hour hotline provides counseling and support groups for children and adults who have been victims of a rape or sexual offense. Provides court accompaniment for criminal cases and outreach in the schools. Also provides help with medical costs associated with being a victim of a violent crime.

Help with Medical Needs

Emergency Medication Services:  Provides a one-time-per-year assistance with prescriptions for people in financial crisis. Referral must be from a human services agency in Mecklenburg County.

Hope Cancer Ministries:  Provides volunteer services to cancer patients and their families throughout Charlotte NC and Mecklenburg County. Services provided can include help with meals, handyman, housekeeping, assist with medical costs, utilities, housing and transportation for medical purposes.
